Is there any way to set a default workspace on bitbucket? It's driving me a little crazy that if I go to bitbucket.org I get taken to a workspace full of 10 year old repos rather than the most recent one I've used since this useless (for me) workspace feature has been introduced.
Hi @neilmendoza and welcome to the community.
I'm afraid that it is not possible to set a default workspace at the moment. When directly accessing bitbucket.org you will be redirected to the last workspace you visited, but not considering your personal workspace.
We realize that this might not be ideal for users that mainly work in personal workspaces and we have raised a feature request to add the ability for users to define a default/favorite workspace to be redirected when accessing bitbucket.org:
I would suggest adding your vote there (by selecting the Vote for this issue link) as the number of votes helps the development team and product managers better understand the demand for new features. You can also add yourself as a watcher (by selecting the Start watching this issue link) if you'd like to get notified via email on updates.
Implementation of new features is done as per our policy here and any updates will be posted in the feature request.
In the meantime, you could use a bookmark in your browser with the URL of the workspace you want open by default, or navigate to the workspace by entering https://bitbucket.org/workspaceID where workspaceID should be the ID of the workspace you want to open.
Kind regards,
Theodora
Thanks for your reply. Ignoring your personal workspace when taking into account the last workspace you visited seems like a poor design decision. Guessing this may have been driven by how your data is structured on the backend rather than what is useful to users. Hoping that default workspace will be added as a feature.
Thanks,
Neil
