How to migrate personal repositories from bitbucket server to bitbucket cloud?

My organization is migrating from bitbucket server to bitbucket cloud. Many users have personal repositories. My questions are:

1. Does bitbucket cloud support personal repositories?
2. What's the best approach to migrating the personal repositories?

Hi Michael,

Repositories in Bitbucket Cloud belong to workspaces. Every Bitbucket Cloud user can create one (or multiple) workspace(s) (this will be separate from your company's workspace) and create repositories in this workspace.

The Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant does not migrate personal repositories. As a workaround, we recommend moving these to normal projects first so they can then be migrated. After the migration, they will belong to the Bitbucket Cloud workspace where you migrated. However, you can transfer them to another workspace created by a user. Please keep in mind that if you transfer them, you will no longer have access to them unless the admin of the new workspace grants you access. Another thing to take into account is that every workspace has its own billing plan. If a user creates a Bitbucket Cloud workspace on the Free plan, they can have up to 5 users with access to the repos of this workspace.

Another workaround would be for the users to take a mirror clone of each personal repo and then push that to newly created empty Bitbucket Cloud repos in their workspace. This will not migrate any metadata like pull requests, but only the core .git repo.
