I am a member of a workspace ("telianorge") that is inactive. Logging in to the Bitbucket UI takes me to this workspace by default, which results in a 404. I must manually edit the URL to get to my active workspace.

Furthermore, I cannot leave the workspace. Clicking on "All workspaces" in the menu and then on "Leave" next to the "telianorge" workspace takes me to yet another 404 URL.

Can you help me leave the inactive workspace?

Hey @kennep

Your workspace has been inactive for quite a while. The only way to remove yourself from this workspace is if we permanently deleted the workspace. If we were to delete it, it would take 30 days to delete, after which, the workspace won't be listed when you access Bitbucket.

If you're okay with this, please let us know if we have your approval to permanently delete the workspace.

Thanks.

Hey @kennep ,

Can you try the following workarounds:

Since the UI is currently looping or failing, please try the following steps to force a change:

  • Direct URL Access: Instead of using the menu, try navigating directly to your global workspace list while logged in: https://bitbucket.org/account/workspaces/. From here, try to select a different workspace as your primary.

  • Check Managed Account Status: If your account is managed by an organization, there is a known bug where Bitbucket remains attached to deactivated accounts. In some cases, an administrator must remove you from the organization's user directory at admin.atlassian.com to break the link.

  • Clear Browser State: Sometimes, the "default" workspace is stored in local storage. Log out of Bitbucket, clear your browser's cache and cookies for bitbucket.org and atlassian.com, and log back in.

I'm guessing you tried using different browsers (or an incognito window) to see if the issue persists there as well?

If nothing works, I could ping the forum support team to see if they can help or at least open a new support ticket for them to assist you. 👀

Cheers,
Tobi
