Getting the following message after logging in to BitBucket "You may need to switch accounts".

Sumit Thaper October 2, 2019

I am successfully logged in to Jira.
But after logging in to BitBucket with my account getting the following message

You may need to switch accounts

You’re currently logged in with your Atlassian account for sumit.thaper-non-empl@moodys.com, but you haven’t signed up for Bitbucket Cloud with this account.

Log in with another account or sign up for Bitbucket Cloud using sumit.thaper-non-empl@moodys.com.

Please let me know what is the issue?

Hello @Sumit Thaper,

Have you ever signed up for Bitbucket Cloud? If not, you need to follow that suggested sign up flow.

At the moment account in Bitbucket is created separately and then linked to the Atlassian account.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Daniil

Thank you @Daniil Penkin  for the response.

I tried doing so.After clicking on the Sign up it lands on a page where new UserId is to be entered.
I Entered the UserId which I have, but it shows the validation message as UserId already exists. And I want to use the same user Id as it used for all related accounts in my Org

Well, unfortunately this is how it currently works: Bitbucket usernames (user IDs) have to be unique across entire Bitbucket Cloud, and they can't be emails. So chances are someone has already claimed the username you'd want to sign up with.

Note that the username is what is in the URL of your Bitbucket profile and settings, and the credential you use for basic authentication, including cloning a repository over HTTPS. It can be different from your workspace ID, which is in the URL of your own repositories, snippets, wikis and static websites.

Initially both username and workspace ID will be equal to what you sign up with. However, you can change both independently in your account settings, so they're not cut in stone.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Daniil

Thanks,

By entering a different unique user name I am logged in to BitBucket,
Now I may need to be added to group by group admin to access repositories
