Does anyone know what your default URL is for you GIT instance?

If you're talking about the built in git-daemon, it listens on port 9418 by default. You can read more about it here: http://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Git-on-the-Server-Git-Daemon

I am guessing you are asking the Stash url? If so, it should be http://{ip_address}:7990/ unless you have changed the port, added a context path etc.
