Deprecation of OAuth 2.0 Resource Owner Password Credentials Grant flow

Mihira.Wanninayake
February 17, 2022

According to this post https://bitbucket.org/blog/deprecating-atlassian-account-password-for-bitbucket-api-and-git-activity , resource owner password credentials grant flow is being deprecated. My understanding is this is the grant_type=password oauth flow..

Currently we are using grant_type=client_credentials grant for authentication. Just want to confirm that client_credentials flow will not be affected by the above change ?

Thanks

G'day Mihira!

I can confirm that the Client Credentials OAuth 2.0 flow is not being affected by this change. For further information regarding supported OAuth 2.0 flows and their implementation, please refer to our documentation regarding this:

Cheers!
