Composer issue with private BB repos

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
We are currently deploying with Bamboo and some are private repositories in BB all with the user foobar, We get an access error when composer tries to get these repos.
We set-up under user foobar a oAuth consumer key and secret which allows to read from these repositories with user foobar. Still access error when trying to get the repo with composer. What are we doing wrong?
