Commits' and pushes' authors are different

Юрий Шведов
March 26, 2015

Commits' author is correct in bitbucket. But in team's activity log pushes are owned by team not  by commit author. Why does this happen an how to fix this?

Hi,

The pusher is defined as the person who authenticated to give us those commits. If you push to a repo, you'll see a news feed full of your name as the pusher, and each commit will be attributed to the correct user. It has worked this way since we started aggregating newsfeed information into groups by push a few years ago.

However, we were dealing with an issue with a crossover of commit message id's that may have caused you an issue.  Is this still an ongoing issue for you?

Cheers,
Gary
