Canonical advice on renaming 'master'

Like many developers I'm looking to rename my `master` branches to `main`.

However, I am not a git expert and it feels like quite a risky thing to do.

It would be good if someone at Atlassian could offer canonical, Bitbucket specific advice for this. Apologies if they have and I didn't find it.
