Cannot clone a repository keep getting authentication failure

I can't clone a repository with my password. I keep getting the error

If you log in via a third party service you must ensure you have an account password set in your account profile.

I have a password set and I've logged in with it multiple times.

i'd like to specify that I'm trying to clone the repository on a unbuntu 14.10 server

Very bizarrely it started working. I guess there was a problem with the Bitbucket service
