Hi Tajana,

I think you need to use an access token instead of your password.

But I would recommend to use an SSH key instead.

See https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/docs/using-access-tokens/ -->

Using Repository Access Tokens with the Git command line interface

Hi Tatjana,

If you are asked to give username and password, you will need to provide:

The email address and the account's password can be used only for logging in to the website from browser. The username and an app password need to be used for Git operations or API calls with Basic authentication.

You can read more about app passwords here:

If you only need to pull from or push to Bitbucket repos, an app password with Repositories - Read and Repositories - Write permissions is enough. If you use a Git GUI application that performs additional operations, e.g. read account info, then additional permissions may be required.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Theodora
