Can hooks be disabled/disallowed per project?

Derek Nguyen

Is there a way to allow hooks for only specific repositories or projects?

We have scenarios where we would want to restrict some projects/repositories from being able to enable certain hooks (e.g. performance, policies..)

Ideally, it would be nice to have the ability to hide some hooks from certain projects/repositories or at the least not allow them to be configurable or enabled on certain projects/repositories.

There is no way (currently) to hide the hooks from the settings pages.

There are two things you can do:

  • Make sure all project/repo admins know which hooks are suitable for them and which are not.
  • Create a small script which uses the REST API to disable a list of plugins for a list of repos and run it periodically.
