Can I get fewer update emails about pull requests?

I've been trying to configure my bitbucket to be more manageable for myself and one thing I'd really like to do is turn off email notifications when people comment on pull requests that I'm a reviewer on.

I like having emails for when I'm added as a reviewer or when something happens to a pull request that I've created, but when I get every update email for pull requests that I'm a reviewer on it becomes too many emails.

Is there a setting I'm missing that I could change this, or is there a good way that I could request the setting be added?

Hi Jason,

I can see in our system that you have a Bitbucket Cloud account with access to repos, so I assume your request concerns Bitbucket Cloud?

If so, pull request email notifications are sent in either of these cases:

1. You have subscribed for pull request notifications for a specific repo. This can be done from the repo's Source page > select the 3 dots in the top right corner > Manage notifications > Select Watch this repository and then Subscribe to notifications about > check Pull requests

2. Even if you are not subscribed for notifications about pull requests in a repo the way I described above, you still have the option to add yourself as a watcher in a pull request of this repo yourself. In this case, you'll receive emails about updates on this specific pull request.

When you create a PR and when you are added as a reviewer in a PR, you are automatically added as a watcher in this PR, which is the reason why you get those emails.

If you'd like to stop receiving email notifications for a PR you've been added as a reviewer, you'll need to remove yourself as a watcher by opening the PR in Bitbucket website > select the 3 dots at the right top corner of the page > Stop watching

We have the following request in our issue tracker regarding more fine-grained notification settings:

Another user also made the suggestion there to choose what type of events you get emails about, e.g. updates to the PR, comments, etc. Is this something that you'd be interested in?

If so, I would suggest that you add your vote (by selecting the Vote for this issue link), as the number of votes helps the development team and product managers better understand the demand for new features. You can also add yourself as a watcher (by selecting the Start watching this issue link) if you'd like to get notified via email on updates.

Please note though that we don't provide ETAs and implementation of new features is done as per our policy here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/new-features-744721668.html.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Theodora
