Bitbucket upgrade broke the search.

Per Lanvin
September 17, 2020

Hi,

After having successfully upgraded Bitbucket 6.6.2 =>7.5.1 the search fucntion (see attached image) is no longer working. Everything else seems fine.

I do not find anything useful in the logs .. have tried delete index > reindex etc according to:
https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bitbucket-questions/Bitbucket-Search-Unavailable/qaq-p/1096093
https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserverkb/bitbucket-server-code-search-is-unable-to-find-results-from-some-or-all-repositories-858783145.html
but none have had any effect.

Any hints on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Per,

My name is Guilherme and I will try to help you with this issue. It looks like your username/password is not correct in your ElasticSearch settings. Since you are running Bitbucket version 7.5.1 and if you are using embedded search, you are running an ElasticSearch version (as from 7.21.0 onwards, comes with OpenSearch embedded).

Can you please follow the Resolution procedures For ElasticSearch from this page: Test button in Search server for Bitbucket server results in the access denied .

Hope that it helps!

Regards,

Guilherme Franchi
