Bitbucket Server upgrade path from 5.0.1 to 7.6 LTS

Ian Wakley

We are currently using Bitbucket server 5.0.1 on RHEL 6 can we upgrade directly to the 7.6 Long Term Support release or do we need to upgrade to an intermediate version eg 6.0 first?

Hi Ian,

welcome to Atlassian Community!

As per documentation it is possible without the intermediate step of going to version 6 first.

This is found here:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/bitbucket-server-upgrade-guide-776640551.html

In chapter 6. there are some versions mentioned which are even older.

Same time there is a yellow info box warning that version 7 is a major upgrade - so testing on a non-production environment will be necessary (and is absolutely recommended!) is all cases.

Please also review release notes:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/bitbucket-server-release-notes-872139866.html

Additionally please have a look at "supported platforms":

Cheers,
Daniel
