Hello,
Several team members received the email "[Action required] App passwords deprecation notice" regarding the June 2026 deadline.
However, when checking Personal settings > Access Management > App passwords, these accounts have no app passwords configured.
This is causing unnecessary confusion. If the account has no active app passwords, is any action actually required? Why are these "Action required" notifications being sent to unaffected users?
Thank you.
Hi,
If those users do not have any app passwords listed under Personal settings → Access Management → App passwords, then in practice there is likely nothing for them to remove. This may be a broad notification sent to accounts that matched Atlassian’s internal criteria, even if no active app password is currently visible. It would still be worth checking whether any old app passwords existed previously, were already revoked, or were created through another linked account/session. If everything is clear, the safest next step is to treat it as informational unless Atlassian support confirms otherwise.
