Any git commands allowed on repositories during backup operations ?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Repositories in Read-Only Mode

I saw on the Bitbucket documentation pages, that, while hosting my own Bitbucket server, and during backups operations, the Bitbucket is under maintenance mode.

I wonder how it goes for the cloud version of Bitbucket and is there any commands (read-only purpose) like clones or checkouts that I can perform on a Bitbucket managed repository even if it's under backup lock system?
