Annoying BitBucket login prompt

Mick Lang

I'm finding coming back to my machine left on overnight to find a million Atlassian Connect to Bitbucket logins and my machine being starved of resources.  If that's not annoying enough, there's nothing on this dialog to indicate which repository it's trying to connect to. I connect to multiple bitbucket repositories using different credentials.  I just have to try and guess which repository its failing to connect to?

This question is forcing me to choose hosting type... I connect to some BitBucket repositories in the cloud and some hosted on on servers.

Hi Mick,

One possible reason I can think of for this prompt is a Git GUI client that may have a setting to check the remotes for updates every X minutes (I don't think that the prompt would be displayed if there was no attempt from your machine to communicate with the remotes).

Are you using a Git GUI client to interact with your repos? And if so, which one?

Also, do you use a Git credential manager on that machine?

Kind regards,
Theodora
