404 Error When Accessing My Bitbucket Account

I have a Bitbucket free account that I have been using for many years.

Today, after pushing changes to one of my repositories, I am no longer able to access my Bitbucket account through the web interface. When I try to open Bitbucket, I get the following error page:

screenshot-bitbucket.org-2026.01.17-13_29_33.png

this happen when opening https://bitbucket.org or any of my Bitbucket projects

This error appears when accessing Bitbucket itself, not when creating a Pull Request. The issue occurs consistently, and I am unable to navigate to my repositories or account pages via the web UI.

My repositories still exist, and I was able to push changes successfully via Git, so the problem seems to be related to the web interface or account access rather than repository permissions.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue, or is there an ongoing incident affecting account access?
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello all,

It has been reported that there are 404 errors related to Mozilla. To my knowledge this has been reported and they suggest using other browsers. Let me know if that helps and/or has resolve temporarily your problem.

@andrex125 welcome to the Atlassian community

Are you using Chrome??  In Chrome if you are logged into the browser with a Google account and that account is not the account used on BitBucket it could be the issue.  I would suggest using a different browser or using incognito in Chrome.

It could possibly be maintenance update.  I would suggest checking it again in a couple of hours.

Thanks for responding... I'm using Firefox 146.0.1 (64-bit) on Arch Linux. It hasn't been working for a couple of days and still isn't working.

I opened it in Chromium and it works...

Why doesn't it work with Firefox?

@andrex125 might be a cache issue.  Have you tried clearing your cache?

yes, I have cleared the cache and site data, logged out and logged back in, and it still doesn't work. I used Incognito in Firefox and, without logging in, the same error still appears, only in Bitbucket.

Actually, there is another open question where other people are also experiencing the same problem:

I saw that.  Looks like a browser change that is impacting BitBucket.  Something Atlassian should be able to look into and fix. I will escalate to support.

Hi Brant,

I am also facing the same issue.

Has it been resolved yet?

@Dicky Sentosa I don't believe so.  The solutions seems to be using a different browser like Chrome.
