What is the CI/CD best practices for distributed application (Multiple solution project)

Hello All,

Just wanted to know the best practices for CI/CD when multiple team is working on the project where number of solution projects are 30+ in same repository. 

So my question is what are best practices we need to follow for QA environment and also for production environment.

i.e.

how and when build should trigger for all different environments. 

as multiple project need to deployed but some time only few need to deployed as per changes done in specific project.
