Upgrading from 7.0.4 to ?

We are currently running on Bamboo version 7.0.4 and want to upgrade.  Is it a good idea to go to the latest version, which I believe is 8.2?  Or do we need to take a stepped approach?

According to the Upgrade Guide, you can upgrade directly to the latest (8.2) directly from 7.0.4.
