Is there a way to disable a remote agent on start-up?

We roll out out VMs quite frequently and generally we will want to run a specific "agent tester" plan first to make sure it has the correct environment (PATH mainly), so is it possible to add a setting to the wrapper.conf or bamboo-agent.sh that will automatically disable it (or even dedicate it to a plan) so it doesn't pick up our build/test plans?

I would rather do this without touching the database if possible.
