How do you configure Bamboo 8.1.5 as https only?

I tried editing the Catalina connector in the server.xml file to serve as an https only connector. Bamboo now starts with https enabled, but it will not connect to Jira or Bitbucket through application links. When I try to connect from application links in Jira or Bitbucket, the connection to Bamboo seems to work, but the reciprocal link from Bamboo fails, giving the error "No valid response was received from the URL you entered."

I used Portecle to create Java keystores for all three applications. Not sure if this is a config or keystore issue.
