Best way to upgrade from Bamboo 2.5 to 3.2

Serge Dukic

Hi Currently we're running Bamboo 2.5.5 build 1718 and would like to upgrade to the newest version of Bamboo. What would be the easiest, quickest and safest way to do this?

Is it possible to just use the 'Export' function in 2.5 and then bring up a 3.2 server and import all of the configuration and the artifacts? Do we need to go through the upgrade path to every version? i.e. 2.5 -> 2.6 -> 2.7 -> 3.0 -> 3.1 ->3.2

The upgrade guide is here: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BAMBOO/Bamboo+Generic+Upgrade+Guide

You only need to go through 2.6.3, 2.7.4 and then directly to 3.2.2 .

This is what we recently did and it worked fine. Just takes a bit of time. Recommend cleaning up the original instance as much as possible - check your build retention settings.

Ok, thanks for that, I will go through the upgrades 2.5 -> 2.6 -> 2.7 -> 3.2. I was hoping there was a quicker way, but it is what it is.
