Looking to a Then: Assign - Round Robin style automation within Jira Automation Tool referencing employee's availability.
Currently we are having to time block each hour to account "Available" hours for when employees are on lunch (therefore are not apart of round robin) or when the employees shift ends.
Example:
If created is between 7-8AM - then assign round robin for User 1, User 2
If created is between 8-9AM Assign - then assign round robin for User 1, User 2 and User 3.
This results in having to update 9 time slots anytime an employee is out for the day, has to leave early, etc.
All help is much apprecited!
The app that @Anthony Morais linked to can do this; if you are looking to create something yourself then have a look at this article, I created the solution with Operations on-call schedule before Smart assignments app were available.
Hey Mikael
Would you happen to have a json export I can import to Jira Automation for this automation flow linked in the article?

@Kyle Elliott no I don't, I created that at my previous employer and don't have access to that instance anymore.

This app is capable of doing that.
Hope it helps!

We use SARJ as well and it works great for this purpose. They are very responsive and the cost is minimal for what you get.

Thanks, @Anthony Morais & @Alan Bruce 👍
Should you decide to take a look at Smart Assignments & Rotations for Jira Service Management (aka SARJ), @Kyle Elliott, you should feel free to reach out to the SARJ support team to request a use case discussion / demo. I.e., you tell us about your use cases, and we'll tell you how to optimize SARJ for them.
You can also reach out with any questions you may have.
Best,
