Hi everyone, looking for a little insight!
Is it possible to bring content from one document to another via automation?
Let me explain the precise use case.
Each week, my boss and I have a weekly one on one. We usually use a running Google doc, and I want to bring it into Confluence instead.
Each week, I can easily create a document, something like: Weekly 1:1 - {{now.shortDate}}
But the weekly template has a couple sections, for example we'll take the most straightforward: To Do's that I would like to move into the new document for the next week's discussion, into another section - Previous Action Items
There might be some other areas, but that's the overall idea and I'm not sure I see a way to do this via automation at a glance.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Hi @Korbin Perry -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You seem to be using the term "document" and I wonder if you mean Confluence page...
Are you planning to have a separate Confluence page for each week, and you want to copy some content from last week's page to the new week's page?
If so, there are some upcoming changes to make it easier to add formatted content to pages using rules. Until those are available, I believe a rule would need to:
Kind regards,
Bill
Hey Bill thanks! Nice to meet you!
And you're absolutely right. Bad habit coming from Google Docs. Page is exactly what I mean, and you got it, basically just need to copy some content from one to the other week by week.
Thanks for sharing that post, that looks promising.
Good thinking in the meantime though, it might be simple enough to just use the API and even N8N to make it happen.
Thanks again for the insight :)
