I have a set of automation rules that are applied to multiple similar projects. Whenever a new project of similar type is created, or one of the existing projects is archived, I'd like to apply or remove the entire automation rule set scope accordingly. Is this possible?
Currently, I have the rule set grouped via a label and use that to identify each rule that has to be updated whenever the scope changes. This isn't terribly tedious today as the scope doesn't need to change frequently, but it feels like a grouped update mechanism could exist to make life easier and I am just unaware of it.
Hi @Laurie Sciutti,
Are you referring to the Project Type list? I'm not aware of how to modify that as I thought it was a system-managed value.

And these are the only Project type options:
If you're referring to the Project Category options under a project's Details settings page, those don't appear to be exposed to Automation as a scope item.

Hello again @Laurie Sciutti,
Using your suggestion I created a new Project Category, then added a JQL filter on my Automation looking for that category. Then I switched the rule scope to Global, and it worked for my needs.
Thank you for the recommendation! I've accepted this as the answer.

Hi @Kip Woods ~ awesome! That's exactly what I was thinking ~ would have responded sooner but I didn't see your previous response from yesterday. Glad you got this working!
