Ability to Modify Teams options in Spaces?

Just curious if it's on the Roadmap for Teams to have the ability to restrict what teams show up in a space? We're found leveraging Teams to be the best configuration for a multitude of business processes within both Jira and JSM. However, the Team field has a lot of bloat since users can create teams at any time. 

It would be extremely nice if we could choose which Teams are available for selection within a particular space. In our case, it would allow us ensure teams utilized for JSM processes are the only teams shown in service spaces. Same thing for our Jira spaces and its processes.

If it's not currently on the roadmap, I'd love to create a feature request for this, if possible.

Couldn't agree more. In it's current format, the Teams are nothing more than a fun gimmick but not something that can truely help larger organizations in assigning work.

In addition to your suggestions, I'd also add that we need the ability to filter the possible assignee based on the current Team value.

I agree with you both.  The first one that needs to be implemented in an either/or situation.  If you're using Managed Teams, users should not be allowed to create Teams.  Because Managed Teams are backed by an Atlassian Group, this makes it much easier to assign teams during the onboarding process based on the persons role.  That might also solve the issue of deactivated users being listed as members of the team.
