Does Rovo dev in VSCode have its own dedicated MCP server?

I've been using Visual Studio Code for development.  I tried out Rovo dev and GitHub Copilot to retrieve my Atlassian data with them.

Share my understanding.

The Rovo dev in Visual Studio Code uses its own version of MCP (perhaps it's unified by Atlassian).

The GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code uses the manually installed Atlassian MCP.

Among them, ONLY Rovo dev can parse the data of my Confluence whiteboard,

Hi @Ryan lee Rovo Dev in VS Code doesn’t use a separate “dedicated” MCP server—it connects to Atlassian’s same MCP service that’s used for external clients. The difference is that Rovo Dev has native integration and permissions handling, so it can access more context (like Confluence whiteboards) out of the box. Tools like Copilot rely on the manually configured MCP connection, so their access can be more limited.
