Hello,

Since the new release of confluence and Jira, Atlassian as introduce a new feature as Security Alert.

We were quite surprise in our case to receive such strange email while doing some normal operation as system administrator. You get spoiled by quite huge amount of email on some basic system change that you intentionally done.

This is a boring and useless feature for us and the only way to disable it is to set some system properties with all the alert type which is crazy.

I do not understand why a simple button at the UI level which simply says ON/OFF have not been think as a basic.

I ask them to open a feature what they call to simply add this.

IF you are like me and have the same opinion on that feature , thanks to participate and vote for it

Wow, I'm extremely impressed at how direct and concise you are about this. Most people tap dance around how absurd it is to restart an entire platform just to tweak minor settings due to Atlassian's laziness and refusal to add configuration options into the UI.

With that being said, you *might* be able to disable it with:

Confluence:

System Settings -> Apps -> System -> "Atlassian Security Monitoring and Alerts" -> Disable.

Now, if you go to: [Instance URL]/plugins/servlet/lighthouse, it should throw an error and you won't get the avalanche of emails.

Jira:

System Settings -> Manage Apps -> Manage Apps -> system -> "Atlassian Security Monitoring and Alerts" -> Disable.

You should now no longer see "security alerts populate" when you press the period (.) key and type it in "security alert" it should no longer populate and [Instance URL]/plugins/servlet/lighthouse should throw an error as well.

Atlassian warns that this might not be possible in future versions.
