We are considering upgrading til Jira DC already now as we need some of the fuctionality as AR and archiving.
But our Jira software server license has been paid for and last until 15th of feb 2024.
If we choose to upgrade will now the payment of the Jira server is lost? Is this really true? As customer I would expect it to be fair to pay the difference
Hi @Jesper Halden !
Do you have an Atlassian Enterprise Advocate to discuss this with? They should be able to help with your specific situation.
It's my understanding that your company would pay the difference, if upgrading from Server to DC. There wouldn't be a lost cost, in that sense. (But don't quote me on this, I don't work for Atlassian!)
Hi @Jesper Halden ,
It depends of your Server license.
In some cases, you can still benefits from Data Center Loyalty Discounts before 30 June 2023

Moving to Cloud, you can have a look at Free Cloud Migration trials

We are not/never moving to Atlassian cloud because our customers doesn't accept it!
So we have paid .......lets say 100 for Jira server lisense which can be used until feb 2024
I we choose to migrate now we will loose are investment of 100, but are so lucky to get 15% discount on the 200 cost of the JIRA DC license
As a customer I think this is very unfair!
What I would expect = Cost of new Jira DC license 200 minus the remaining amount of my Jira server license...eg. 300 days left of 360...300/360 x 100

....and it is exact same situation for all the server plugins we paid for. We have to buy them again....this actually comes to a considerable amount for us with just 2000 user license
