GIT hub integration from Jira server to cloud

Hello Team,

Currently we are planning to migrate our Jira software server to cloud. We have few questions regarding GitHub migration. 

I have identified there is GitHub for Jira app available for cloud. Do we need to install this app before migrating server data to cloud and establish connection to GitHub ?

If we install app after migrating server data and establishing connection to GitHub will work.

Kindly provide me any suggestion and best practices.
