I am the admin of a Confluence Server installation and I tried to perform a data migration trial using the Confluence Migration Assistant. While the migration was still running, suddenly the error occurred "We can't communicate with your server" (see picture as attached). I interrupted the migration to try fixing the error, but I astonished that the browser couldn't locate the confluence application any more, so that I was unable to do anything. Here are the details:
Data Source:
URL: https://confluence.dulaccapital.beecollaboration.com
Server ID: A9NM-FVTC-QNC8-9UVD
SEN: 5112008
Active users: 10
Products: Confluence, Version 6.13.8
Apps: No apps
Data Destination:
URL: https://dulacoikos.atlassian.net
I informed the site administrator this morning who said that he is not able to help as he wasn't involved. Therefore, I hoped that Atlassian would be able to repair the installation and help finalizing the transfer. A few minutes ago the administrator told me that the installation is again up and running by itself: Good news...
Now, I need the support of Atlassian to migrate the data from the Server to the Cloud without interruption and without loss of data connection:
1. Why did the system crash and lost connection to the data?
2. Why did Confluence get broken and couldn't be found any more after the crash?
3. How did Confluence repair itself and appeared again suddenly (site administrator)?
4. How do I increase the Heap Allocation to 4 GB from currently 1 GB?
5. How do I update the firewall allowance rules (Whitelist items?)
6. How do I set the open file limit close to 32768?
I can't rely on the help of the site administrator. I will be happy to join the support program for the Cloud solution https://dulacoikos.atlassian.net in Standard mode, as soon as the data migration is successful.
