question Curious about the Cloud Transition Team?

We focus on providing smart insights and scalable tools to help you confidently optimize your cloud journey. Whether you are moving to cloud or growing your footprint, we focus on delivering a path to success that meets your organization's needs.

🌟 This quarter's highlights

➡️ Access Multiple Sandboxes with Cloud Enterprise – Now in Open Beta

Multiple Sandboxes is now available in open beta for all Cloud Enterprise customers. This feature allows organizations to have more than one sandbox per product site, providing greater flexibility for safely implementing changes, supporting parallel testing, and aligning with industry-standard change management practices. Learn more about Multiple Sandboxes.

➡️ Resolve Jira Entity Duplication with this new Early Access Program (EAP)

We're excited to introduce our Jira Entity Duplication EAP, giving customers access to capabilities that help resolve Jira entity duplication during migration. This challenge can arise when duplicate issues, projects, or other Jira entities are unintentionally created in the cloud. Our solution prevents these conflicts, ensuring a seamless and clean data migration. By joining the EAP you can get early access to this capability to help make your migration smoother and more efficient. To participate, contact your Cloud Migration Manager for more details.

🚀 What's next?

➡️ Migrate Automation for Jira rules seamlessly from Data Center to Cloud with JCMA

We’re making it easier to migrate your Automation for Jira (A4J) rules from Data Center to Cloud. Currently, JCMA doesn’t automate this process, leaving customers to manually export and import automation data—a workaround that we recognize can be less than ideal. Based on strong demand from the community, we're building a solution to seamlessly migrate your A4J rules, saving you time and reducing hassle during your cloud migration. Keep an eye out for more updates!

➡️ Access the Open Beta for the new Backup & Restore experience - available soon to customers with an Enterprise plan

We’re developing a new backup and restore experience designed to provide a reliable, enterprise-grade solution for Jira, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, and Confluence. This offering will include comprehensive data management, flexible backup options, and fast data restoration capabilities. This enables organizations to remain agile and responsive, reducing risks and boosting development efficiency.

The open beta for the new Backup & Restore experience will be exclusively available to Enterprise plan customers at no additional charge for the duration of the beta.

➡️ Migrate Assets (formerly Insights) from Data Center to Cloud with ease

We know that migrating your Assets data (formerly Insights) from Data Center to Cloud is crucial to getting the most out of cloud. However, manual process of migrating and reconfiguring this data can complicate your migration journey. To simplify this migration, we’re building a seamless solution that will streamline the transition of your Assets data to the cloud, reducing complexity and ensuring an overall smoother journey to cloud.

➡️ Optimize your Atlassian landscape with Portfolio Insights – moving from EAP to Beta

Starting April 7, Portfolio Insights will be released as an open beta, giving you centralized visibility across your Atlassian products in Cloud and Data Center. With automatic product detection, migration insights, and recommendations to keep your instances healthy and optimized, you’ll have the tools to manage your growing portfolio with confidence. Read our post, or stop by the Cloud Migrations & Data Center booth in person at Team’25, if you're attending, to learn more.

All customers with an Atlassian Cloud site will be automatically enrolled in the open beta and given access to Portfolio Insights—no signup required.

🎉 Thank you!

That's a wrap for the 2025 Q1 Cloud Transition Round Up! We can't wait to see you at Team '25 in Anaheim, where we'll share even more exciting updates to help you accelerate your journey to cloud!

Hi @Casey Chatman . Quick question about the Backup and Restore blurb:

➡️ Access the Open Beta for the new Backup & Restore experience - available soon to customers with an Enterprise plan

The open beta for the new Backup & Restore experience will be exclusively available to Enterprise plan customers at no additional charge for the duration of the beta.

There are at least a couple ways that this could be interpreted:

  1. joining the beta will not incur any additional costs for Enterprise customers
  2. Enterprise customers can join the beta and won't need to pay anything extra until the new experience becomes generally available

Can you please clarify if the new experience, once GA, will include require additional costs / subscriptions / etc. for Enterprise customers?

Hi @Josh

Number 2 is correct! That is, customers currently on an Enterprise plan will automatically receive free access to the new Backup & Restore beta experience. When this feature becomes generally available, customers will need to pay for access. Paying for access will be an optional add-on.

Best,
Casey

Thank you for the prompt and helpful clarification, @Casey Chatman !

Do you happen to have details on pricing? Our organization is planning for our next FY budget so this information will be pretty critical in the next month or so.

Hi @Josh

We have not yet released the pricing details, but we will ensure to share this information prior to any general availability release.

If you're going to Team'25 in Anaheim, California next week we'd love to discuss this more.

Thanks,
Casey

Yes, our team will be there next week. If you can share your contact info here or pass it along to Philip Li (our Atlassian CSM) it would be great to schedule some time to discuss.

I'm really eager to see a fix for A4J migration. An API, an import tool that does the ADF conversion or whatever is required.

We're being pressured to use JCMA but it's still raw in the middle...
