Export Custom Charts or Build Custom Chart Templates

Hello,

similar to Dashboards Exports or creating Dashboards from own created Templates, is there an option to do this only for Custom Charts?

E.g. I have created a Custom Chart in a Dashboard and want to replicate this in another Dashboard without redefining all queries and steps again.

Could a Custom Chart export and imported in another Dashboards?

Or could a Custom Chart be saved as a Template so that it appears in the Chart Template list?

Currently, Atlassian Analytics supports the export and import of entire dashboards. This can be achieved by exporting a dashboard as a JSON file and then importing it into another Analytics workspace. This feature is designed to streamline the process of transferring dashboards between sites, making it both faster and more efficient.

However, it's important to note that there isn't a specific feature for exporting or importing individual custom charts separately from dashboards. The existing functionality is centered around entire dashboards, so you would need to export the dashboard containing the custom chart and then import it into another workspace.

Regarding the ability to save a custom chart as a template, Atlassian Analytics does offer chart templates that serve as starting points for creating custom visualizations. However, it doesn't explicitly allow individual custom charts to be saved as templates for reuse in the same manner as dashboards.

As a suggestion, you can make a copy of the chart and save it to any dashboard you prefer. While this isn't an import/export solution, it should help you move or copy charts around more easily.
