When I go to the Cycle time Metrics report here:two values for status are already selected and I can’t clear them. When I click on the x’s, that just shuffles the status value randomly. I’ve cleared cache and rebooted. My manager, Sara Hoffman, says this filter is not selected on her computer
Hi Suraj,
Thank you for reaching out. I can see from your screenshot that you are using the "KTD Cycle Time Metrics" standard dashboard and the filter control (which appears to be a status-type filter between "Project" and "Age Category") has two values pre-selected that you cannot remove by clicking the X.
What is happening:
In Atlassian Analytics standard dashboards, certain filter controls (called "controls") can have default values configured by the dashboard owner/editor. When a control has default values set, clicking the X on an individual tag does not clear it entirely. Instead, it cycles to another available value because the control is configured to always have at least one selection active. This is by design for configuration-type controls that require input to calculate metrics like cycle time.
The fact that Sara Hoffman does not see the same pre-selected values likely means her browser/session has a different saved filter state, or she is viewing the dashboard before any interactive filter selections are applied.
Troubleshooting steps to try:
Use "Clear All Filters": I can see the "Clear All Filters" link at the top of your filter panel. Click that to reset all filters back to their configured defaults. After clearing, click Update Charts in the top right to refresh the data.
Clear browser local storage for the site: Analytics dashboards can persist filter selections in your browser's local storage. To reset:
Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12)
Go to Application > Local Storage
Find and clear entries for your Atlassian site URL
Reload the dashboard
Try an incognito/private window: Open the same dashboard URL in a private browsing window. If the filter appears without pre-selections (or with different defaults), this confirms a cached browser state is the cause.
Check if you have edit access: If you have edit permissions on this dashboard, you can inspect or change the control's default values:
Enter Edit mode on the dashboard
Click the filter control's settings (gear icon or "Edit settings")
Look for a "Default value" configuration and adjust or remove it

I hope this helps.
