Changes to Jira fields related to parent issues

What's happening

To remove redundancies and prepare for future schema changes, we're deprecating the following Jira issue fields from the “Issue field” table in the Atlassian Data Lake:

• Subtask

• Epic Link

Specifically, we’re removing rows in the “Issue field” table where the “Name” column is one of 'Epic Link' and 'Sub-tasks'.

When to expect these changes

The release of this change has started and will roll out region by region. Once this change has been rolled out for all new issues and field updates, we’ll remove the historical issue data for these fields next week.

What you need to do

If you have charts that are querying any of these fields, we suggest editing your queries to use other fields. If you do not take any action, the charts may return an error or not produce the expected data once this change is implemented.

For querying parent and child issues in Jira, we recommend following the method described in this article, which uses the field where “Name” is 'Parent'.
