New in Rovo Chat: @mention Agents, Share Chats, & more

Hello Atlassian Community,

Manav from the Rovo Chat team here. Today, we’re making Rovo Chat feel a lot more like a natural extension of your team.

Introducing new ways to @mention agents, share chats with your team, control what Rovo remembers about you, and teach Rovo your workflows.

Don’t leave the thread to find an agent, @mention them instead

You can now @mention an agent directly in Rovo Chat. This is one of those changes that feels small until you use it. When you’re already in a conversation and realize a specific agent can help, you can bring them in without stepping out of the thread or starting a separate flow.

In Chat, @mention an agent when you want them to take the next step. Use it for moments like:

  • Pulling in a specialized agent for a specific task.

  • Moving from a general question to a more focused workflow.

  • Keeping the conversation in one place while changing who is helping.

Chat is often where work is shaped. You start broad, narrow the question, find the missing context, and then realize a specific agent should take over. Direct agent mentions make that handoff feel natural: the thread stays intact, the user stays in flow, and the agent is pulled in exactly when needed.

Move a great chat from “mine” to “ours” with Shareable Chats

You can share a useful chat with colleagues instead of copying pieces out, rewriting context, or sending screenshots of the answer.

These good chats often become work artifacts. A useful analysis, a plan, a draft, a decision trail, a debugging path. Sharing lets that work move to the next person with the context intact.

When you have a chat worth reusing, share it with a colleague instead of starting over.

How does it work?

When you click on “Share chat” - a dialog opens that allows you to create a secure, shareable link for that chat - up to that moment in time. You can create a link in two ways:

  • Create a link that works for anyone in your organization - useful for chats that do only contain information you’re okay with sharing with all of your colleagues.

  • Create a link that works for only certain people in your organization - useful for chats that you’d like to limit to certain colleagues in your organization. This link will only work if they access it.

What do my colleagues see?

Your colleagues see a “View only” version of your chat conversation - up to the moment that you created your sharing URL.

📝 If the original user - who created the chat session and the sharing link - continued that conversation after sending the link, the recipient would not see the new prompts and Rovo responses.

Your colleagues can chose to continue that conversation, using your shared conversation as a starting point. Clicking on the “Continue in a new chat” button will create a local copy of the shared conversation in their conversation history, which they can then continue further with Rovo.

This way, you can start a conversation with Rovo and add context as needed. You can then share the primary conversation with your colleagues - and they can create their individual “forks” of that conversation, completely privately, and use your initial context. This saves so much time and effort.

Create, manage, and update personalized skills directly in Chat

Custom skills are now live in Rovo Chat, and If you don;t know what skills are? Skills are reusable capabilities that help you effectively complete the job at hand, so you can give Rovo more meaningful and nuanced work.

And today, we are excited to put the power of skill creation directly in your hands, right from the chat experience.

This is the first time users can extend Rovo's capabilities with their own skills, created and managed entirely within the products they already use. No code deploys, no waiting — just describe what you need and start using it. Its available implicitly or explicitly via /create-skillin chat today. Rovo automatically searches your existing Confluence & team context to populate the skill’s background, formatting guidelines, and instructions for you.

Make every conversation build on the last with smarter Memory

When we first announced Memory in Rovo Chat, the goal was to move beyond the blank-slate experience. Rovo could remember useful details about your role, preferences, communication style, and ongoing priorities; so you wouldn’t need to repeat them in every new chat.

That foundation becomes even more valuable as Rovo expands across more ways of working. Memory helps improve all your conversations with Rovo by carrying relevant context forward over time.

  • More personalized responses: Rovo can adapt to your preferred tone, level of detail, and formatting style.

  • Less repetition: You spend less time re-explaining your role, projects, and working preferences.

  • Continuity across experiences: The same context can help when you chat with Rovo, @mention an agent, or use a custom skill.

  • Better results over time: Each conversation can build on what came before, helping Rovo become more useful for the way you work.

  • User control: You can review, update, or remove saved memories and manage memory settings at any time.

Try it in Rovo Chat

These updates are all about making Rovo work harder for you—so you can spend less time on the "work about work" and more time on what matters. Whether you’re @mentioning a specialist agent to finish a task or sharing a breakthrough with your team, the new Rovo Chat is ready when you are.

Happy chatting! 💙
