There is a new Snyk App in Jira Marketplace, however it is not installing properly (I am not able to "complete" the install), which feels like it might be have something to do with the way that Snyk is connected to Jira. However, I am not sure if that is something on the Jira side, or the Snyk side.

In Snyk I can still create an Issue that is created in Jira, but not seeing the vulnerabilities in the Security Tab makes me think there is some sort of Screen, or Workflow that needs to be installed, or created in order to have the security vulnerabilities showing up in their respective containers again.

Hi @shane.chambers

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

The Security tab is not driven by screens or workflows. It is fed by security data that a connected provider pushes into Jira via the security API, and it only appears once linked vulnerability data exists on the work item.

What I would check:

  • Project settings > Features and confirm Security is toggled on for that project.
  • The Snyk side of the link. The app connection and the Snyk-to-Jira integration are two separate things, and a broken app install leaves Jira issue creation working while the security data stops flowing.
  • Whether the failed install is really a permission problem. Installing needs org admin, not just product admin, for some apps. Give it a try to remove the app completely before reinstalling it.

On the install itself, I would report that straight to Snyk support since it is a Marketplace partner app. Atlassian support will only cover the Jira side of the connection.

Was this ever resolved on your side, or is the Security tab still empty?

Cheers, Martin
