How can I add all the story points on Structure by TEMPO, and display total story points + progress bar at the initiative level only. I do not want to display child items for this dashboard
Based on google research I saw the following information: But how can i approach this solution using Structure by Tempo
I appreciate any help
Hello @JiraLearner
Please note - the mentioned instructions do not apply to Structure by Tempo; they relate to some other app.
If you mean that you only want to see Initiatives in the structure (without their child issues underneath them) and you want to see the sum of Story Points of child issues for each Initiative, then it's not possible at the moment. The Formula column can extract some values from linked issues via the link between them, but this doesn't apply to Story Points.
Displaying both progress and Story Points based on the values of child issues is only possible if both the Initiative and its child issues are present in the structure. Here is what you can do:
1. Add issues to the structure in the form of the hierarchy.
2. Add the Story Points column, click on its name, edit its configuration and enable the 'Sum over sub-items' option to enable the aggregation of values. As a result, the numbers will be rolled up from the bottom levels to the top.
3. Add the progress column and configure it the way you need.
4. if you don't want to see the child issues, you can collapse their hierarchy levels, only seeing the Initiatives, and drilling down to the lower levels only when it's needed.
I hope this helps. If you need further assistance or if you have more questions about Structure, please reach out to us directly at our support portal.

Tempo (the Structure app vendor)
@Stepan Kholodov (Tempo) that is exactly how I have set it up. I was wondering if there was a way to have a sum of story points at the Initiative level without having the hierarchy levels, but you already explained.
Another question for you - If I make a change in one structure, how to I prevent this change to carry over different structures. For example, for 1 structure I want to have a set of columns (Status, Progress, StoryPoints, Assignees etc..). For another structure, I want a different view.
It seems like everytime I update 1 structure, the same columns are being applied over the other structures.
Thank you

@JiraLearner
it depends on what you mean by integrating with Confluence and on your Confluence version. If you want to be able to add the Structure macro on Confluence pages and display structures there, and if your Confluence version is before 9.0, then no - you only need Structure installed in Jira, and the proper configuration.
If you mean being able to add Confluence pages in structures, and if your Confluence is 9.0+ then yes - you need Structure installed in Jira, and Confluence Helper for Structure installed in Confluence.
If you have any other questions, please reach out at our support portal and we'll get back to you shortly.

Stepan

@JiraLearner
Sure thing, you can use different views in different structures - have one set of columns in one structure, and another set in another structure.

@Stepan Kholodov (Tempo) Confirmed. I have saved a few set of views, and dashboards look correct now. In order to integrate with confluence, do we need to install Structure.Pages by tempo on both application (Jira and Confuence ) ?
