How to use ScriptRunner to change project permissions on a plugin?

Hello,

I am using Adaptivist ScriptRunner Jira together with Catworkx Matrix for Jira.  The matrix plugin uses project permissions to allow issue cards to be moved from one cell to another.  However, I would like for the cards to never be moved without having to change the Edit Issue permissions permanently.

Is there a way in ScriptRunner to change project permissions to restrict editing issues when I'm viewing the plugin or only allow editing when I'm on the issue but restrict everywhere else?  Alternatively, I know that ScriptRunner allows for Scripting Other Plugins, so would there be a way to restrict the matrix plugin to read-only.  Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
