We are trying to save a MediaWiki site stood up by one of our colleagues that provides great value to the internal community but IT is requesting we move off of the MediaWiki technology as it is non-standard and are preferred platform for such content is Confluence.

Found a number of references to an old utility built and supported by a third-party which is even referenced in Atlassian forums but its been years since it was active and all links lead to dead ends.  The application was called Universal Wiki Converter (UWC).  Last updated in 2013-2015 and is only applicable to v4 of Confluence.   We are on version 8.5.11 so the references are quite dated.

Is there a free utility that would support this conversion?  We have about 2200 pages we wish to migrate with some graphical content.

If you want the pain, there’s a version of UWC here:

https://bitbucket.org/appfusions/universal-wiki-converter/src/master/

Use that to import into a version of Confluence 4 and then do all the upgrades to the latest version of Confluence.

For extra marks, import into Confouence Cloud too 🙌
