How can I set Database Picker field configuration by context

This is the scenario:
- I have multiple JIRA projects, one per each Help Desk group.
- One of the fields they need to complete is the "Location".
- Location field is a database picker ScriptRunner field.
- I have a central database with the locations for all teams, but each team has it's own set of locations.
How can I configure the Location field and change the queries on a per context basis, meaning, different JIRA Projects?
Maybe there are other alternatives, so I'm open to suggestions.
PS: I know a workaround, but would like to avoid it, that's creating several fields all with the same name and each assigned to a different JIRA project. That's a hack that I'd like to avoid.
