Getting error with WBS Gantt-chart: Bad Request Field 'customfield

Jeff Brazzolotto April 1, 2025

Hello  I am suddenly not able to set dates anymore into WBS Gant . I am getting this error

Error occurred for the following reason. Please reload page.
Bad Request Field 'customfield_19018' cannot be set. It is not on the appropriate screen, or unknown

All my dates previously entered have been removed and are blank now. and each time an entering a date I am getting this error.

In my issues I have the Start date and Finish date (WBS Gantt_Chart) all set.

When I click on Open WBS Gantt-chart start date and finish date and baseline as well are all empty.

How should I be able to retrieve the Date in my issues into my Gantt chart ?

Hi @Jeff Brazzolotto

Thank you for posting! I’m Charlotte from WBS Gantt-Chart support team.

Is this project with the missing dates a Team-managed project?

If so, this issue must be happening due to API specification changes in Atlassian Cloud, which began rolling out in late February 2025, team-managed projects can now only retrieve data from fields that have been explicitly added to the project.

As a result of this restriction, if fields such as the start date are not added to the team-managed project, WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira will be unable to retrieve their values.

Therefore, it’s important that you add to the project the same fields that are configured in your Global Issue configuration, to check that follow the steps below:

  1. Click the gear icon ⚙️ to open Jira settings;
  2. Select Apps;
  3. Find WBS Gantt-Chart in the left column and select Issue;
  4. There you will be able to see which fields you use:

Make sure to add the fields in your configuration to the project. For more information on that, and a video with the step-by-step, please refer to our documentation here: Start Date and Other Gantt-Chart Data Missing in Team Managed Project

I hope this clarifies things out for you, however don't hesitate to share your doubts or questions about the app. We’ll be happy to help you! 😉

Hello Charlotte, Many thanks for your answer. I am on the cloud app and I have not the same admin page as yours and my admin rights are limited. You can check the picture attached the Start date fiels is empty in my config and the Finish date says: Actual completion date. but I cannot edit any of these fields.WBS Gantt-Chart config.jpg

And on the JIRA side I only have access to the below pictureWBS Gantt-Chart JIRAsettings.jpg

WBS Gantt-Chart JIRA 2 settings.jpg

And I know start date and finish date are configured in all my issues. It was working nicely last week :)
