Hello,

I have a requirement wherein I need to make a field mandatory based on values selected in the first drop down of a cascading custom field, while performing a transition. The user needs to update certain fields on a custom screen before the transition is executed.

I am trying to add a simple validator script for validating the value in first drop down of the Cascading list, but ran into this error. I don't have a background in groovy scripting or any programming whatsoever, but passionate to expand my knowledge on this.

I have been a JIRA admin for about 2 years now, but never required to create any scripts so far. Any kind of assistance will be really helpful !

Also, looking for suggestions on beginner-level learning materials for scripting in JIRA.

Hi @Yagna Sodha,

It is being provided by default function. Though you seem to have that error message, the logic seems to work fine. It is validating the field value.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
