Every Confluence wiki we have worked with has the same problem: pages nobody has touched in a year, runbooks for systems that no longer exist, onboarding guides that onboard people into 2023. Readers can't tell what's current, and admins can't see the rot at scale.
We just released Stale Content Auditor for Confluence, a free app that gives admins one dashboard for the whole cleanup workflow:
- Scan any space (or all spaces) and see every page bucketed Fresh, Aging, or Stale, using day thresholds you configure
- A page counts from its last edit or its last recorded review, whichever is newer, so reviewed content stays fresh without cosmetic edits
- Assign owners to pages and filter to "my pages" for distributed cleanup
- Record reviews with a who-and-when audit trail
- Archive outdated pages in one click (with a confirmation step)
Privacy notes, because we know admins ask: it runs entirely on Atlassian's Forge platform, stores only owner and review records plus your thresholds in Forge storage inside Atlassian, and never touches external servers. No page content is stored anywhere.
