This post is for everyone who needs to migrate from Elements Checklist to another tool. In particular, for those who upgraded to Jira 10 and noticed that Elements Checklist got disabled in this version.
Unfortunately, such users can’t work with the add-on anymore. So the most reasonable thing to do is to pack up your things and switch to a supported checklist app.
Even if you already have Jira 10 and Elements Checklist is unavailable, you still can easily migrate to Smart Checklist for Jira. This solution supports migration from Elements Checklist for all Jira Data Center users. Let’s see how this works.
Once you installed Smart Checklist, you can easily complete your migration from the “Import Checklists” tab in the Smart Checklist Settings.
Select Elements Checklist as the “Add-on to import from” and specify your preferences for the migration. Your Elements Checklist information will be transferred to Smart Checklist, so you will be able to work with your checklists in Jira 10.
The app allows you to import all your checklists at once. You can also migrate checklists for separate projects via the REST API endpoint. For more details on how to complete the migration, please see this Migration Guide.
If you want to better understand how the migration will go, you can run a test via the REST API endpoint. This allows you to preview the results of the migration process for all your projects or for the ones you select. The app will generate logs indicating which issues would be affected without making any actual changes to your projects.
Apart from Elements Checklist, Smart Checklist supports migration from apps such as My ToDo and Checklist for Jira Enterprize.
