Sounds like magic, right? But it’s not!
If you’re already using our Compliance for Confluence marketplace app, you know how powerful data classification can be - it keeps your pages properly labelled, permissions under control, and sensitive information in safe hands.
But now, my fellow Atlassian Community friends, you can experience a little bit of this magic too. With the new AI Classification feature, your Confluence pages can classify themselves automatically. No more forgetting to add a classification level or asking a colleague to review a page before publishing. Let me give you a quick overview of how exactly it works.
If you’re new to Compliance for Confluence app, here’s what this means in simple terms:
When you create a new page - a project plan, HR policy, or financial report - Compliance for Confluence analyses its content using a large language model (LLM) and applies the most appropriate data classification level for you.
For existing customers, this feature adds automation and accuracy - freeing your teams from repetitive steps.
For those new to Compliance for Confluence, it’s a glimpse into what modern data protection can look like in Confluence Cloud - fast, consistent, and intelligent.
That’s it. You publish, and AI takes care of the rest.
AI Classification analyses several signals - your page title, content, space title, and description - to determine sensitivity and confidentiality.
It works on a space-by-space basis, so you can decide where you want it active (for example, enable it in your published documentation, but not in draft areas).
Once enabled, it brings three key benefits:
AI Classification is available now for all Compliance for Confluence Cloud users.
Go to the AI Features menu in your admin settings, toggle AI classification on, and experience your own magic moment in Confluence.
