Stop Searching Through Irrelevant Work Items in Jira

When linking work items in Jira, finding the right one can sometimes mean going through a long list of available work items. This becomes especially frustrating when you only want to link work items that belong to the same parent as the current work item.

Instead of manually searching through unrelated work items, wouldn't it be easier to show only the ones that matter?

A Simpler Way to Filter Work Items

With the latest update of Advanced Link Manager for Jira , you can now use the “Only show work items that share the same parent” option.

Simply enable the toggle, and the available work items will automatically be filtered to show only those that have the same parent as the current work item.

How It Works

🔹 Toggle ON : Only work items sharing the same parent as the current work item are         displayed.

🔹 Toggle OFF : All available work items are displayed as usual.

This gives you more control over the work items available for linking and makes it much easier to find the right ones.

Less Searching. More Relevant Results.

Whether you're working with large projects or complex work-item hierarchies, filtering by the same parent helps reduce irrelevant results and makes linking work items faster and more efficient.

And how about you? How do you find work items that share the same parent?
