LaTeX Formula AI Assistant: A Faster Way to Add Math Formulas in Confluence

You're adding a formula to a Confluence page. Maybe you know LaTeX well, but blanked on one piece of syntax β€” how to nest fractions inside an exponent, or get the subscripts on a summation right. Or maybe you're new to LaTeX, and every formula means another search to figure out how to write it. Either way, the math isn't the problem; the syntax is where the time goes.

That gap is exactly why we added the new AI Assistant to our app, LaTeX Math for Confluence. Instead of recalling syntax, you describe the formula in plain language, and the assistant generates the LaTeX syntax for you right inside the formula editor.

Describe the formula in plain words, and get the LaTeX syntax

In practice, you open the LaTeX Formula Editor on a Confluence page with the /latex command and just start typing what you need in the Ask AI field, in plain words β€” like "integral from 0 to infinity of e to the minus x squared" or "standard deviation of a sample".

The generated LaTeX drops straight into the Syntax field, with the rendered result shown in the live preview above it. If it's right, save it. If it's close but not quite, refine your description and generate again, or just edit the syntax by hand. That's it.

Where the LaTeX Formula AI Assistant actually saves time

  • Occasional writers who know the math but not the syntax, and don't want a cheat sheet open in another tab.

  • Onboarding a teammate who's never touched LaTeX β€” they can contribute formulas without the syntax learning curve.

  • One-off complex expressions, where hand-writing the syntax is slow and easy to get wrong.

Full step-by-step details are in the LaTeX Formula AI Assistant documentation, and the app itself is LaTeX Math for Confluence on the Marketplace.
